Are you interested in how the windshield chip repair kit VIC system works? Here is the step-by-step process that shows how it can dramatically fix the damages of your windshield and windscreens, not only in Victoria but even in NSW, Tasmania, and QLD.
Step 1 | Windshield Chip Repair Kit
Clean the glass with a razor blade and clean cloth.
Using the drill tool contained in your windshield chip repair kit VIC to drill into the centre of the damage. However, you should BE CAREFUL NOT TO DRILL into the plastic layer.
Blow out the dust before placing the applicator in position.
Step 2 | Windshield Chip Repair Kit
Place the applicator in position.
Suck onto the glass with the vacuum pump attached to the windscreen seal valve.
Use the mirror on the inside of the glass to accurately place applicator and monitor the repair.
Step 3 | Windshield Chip Repair Kit
Remove the vacuum pump attached to the pressure cylinder valve. Ensure that a vacuum can be held.
Load the Hypodermic syringe with 0.15ml of SILVER resin and place this firmly on to the top of the pressure cylinder.
Apply vacuum by restraining the syringe plunger for 30 seconds. Leave this under the vacuum for 2-3 minutes.
Step 4 | Windshield Chip Repair Kit
Insert the pressure screw and tighten it until the resin is near leaking.
Step 5 | Windshield Chip Repair Kit
Observe the resin creeping along the crevices. Note that the speed of penetration may vary.
After two minutes, you should notice an obvious movement. When the flow appears to be slowing, remove the pressure screw then insert the star probe. This will once again produce a vacuum in the pressure cylinder.
Press firmly on the probe and notice the cracks reappearing. Hold it steady for at least 30 seconds. When it is obvious the resin is flowing again, replace the pressure screw and allow the pressure to the resin into all areas. Refer to the manual for details of correction techniques.
Step 6 | Windshield Chip Repair Kit
When you are sure all of the pockets and crevices in the damage are completely filled, remove the applicator from the screen by lifting the edge of the windscreen seal.
Mop it up with a cloth all surplus resin. Do this by removing any resin from your applicator and stow it in the kit.
You may then apply a piece of mylar film to cover the resin and the crater. Do this by rolling a resin bottle along the film to create a thin layer of resin.
Expose this to sunlight or a UV lamp for about 2 minutes. The resin will then be hard and will crackle as the film is removed.
Step 7 | Windshield Chip Repair Kit
When the surplus resin has been removed, flush the glass surface by applying a drop of "Plastic Polish" or spray a light film of "Dry Wash and Polish" to the repaired crater. Buff it with the electric drill and a felt buffing wheel or calico mop at high speed until a good shine appears.
