INTRODUCTION
Modern laminated windscreens, though lighter and generally
not as strong as tempered or toughened windscreens, are remarkably
safe. They generally hold together when impacted thereby avoiding
serious laceration to the vehicles occupants.
The plastic layer between two panels of glass absorbs most
of the impact shock when hit by a projectile.
This stone or debris damage usually results in a star or
bulls eye type crack and may also have cracks radiating from
the impact point.
Provided this damage is not in the drivers immediate peripheral
vision area, there is no serious risk to the vehicle although
it is most unsightly and will continue to crack further if
left unabated.
This type of damage can be repaired.
MIRACLE MEND Windscreen Repair Systems can restore up to
90% of vision of this damage and maintain almost 100% of the
original strength and integrity of the windscreen.
Once repairs are completed to manufacturers instructions
and conform to Australian Standards (AS2366-1999) requirements
these repairs will generally satisfy any Australian Road Traffic
Authority Inspections.
